At LinK12, we utilize the Character Strong, an evidence-based social-emotional and character development curriculum. Social and emotional learning is the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.The asynchronous teaching especially allows for our working families the opportunity to receive a quality education without compromising to the demands of their busy lives.Īll students enrolled in the program will receive a Chromebook and a printer/scanner provided by the district for use while actively enrolled in the Dukes Virtual Academy. Each educator will provide videos, walk-through experiments or other unique and engaging lessons. The program is led by certified teachers from Duquesne and the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) who present lessons equivalent to those taught in the classroom. There is no limit to the number of students that can enroll by the deadline date.ĭuquesne Virtual Academy is an online learning platform in which students can hone their budding skills and continue to learn and grow.
